Co-Founders
Gabrielle and Kara are the co-founders of Onyx Medical Aesthetics. Onyx was founded in 2019. Gabrielle and Kara spent over five years working together to provide care to hospitalized patients in the Olympia/Lacey area. Over the years they have developed strong communication skills, self-awareness, a commitment to education, and the art of aesthetic medicine. Their strong teamwork and friendship have continued to grow along side their business partnerships.

Co-Founders
Onyx Medical Aesthetics was founded in 2020 by Gabrielle Hudson and Kara Baxter, who have over a decade of experience providing care in the Olympia/Lacey community. Gabrielle is an Advance Practice Nurse Practitioner with training in Family Practice, Cardiology, and Aesthetic Medicine, while Kara is a Registered Nurse with experience in family practice, critical care, and aesthetic injections.
Their strong desire for personal growth, health, beauty, and building meaningful connections with other women and mothers motivated them to establish an aesthetics practice. At Onyx, we take great pride in our work and are passionate about helping you feel confident in your own skin. Our skilled professionals utilize the latest aesthetic techniques, including neurotoxins, dermal fillers, and PDO threads, to sculpt a natural and refreshed look. We offer a personalized consultation to identify your beauty goals and anti-aging needs, and use a shared decision-making process to develop a customized treatment plan. Meet Gabrielle, Co-Founder and Medical Director of Onyx Medical Aesthetics
Gabrielle is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate from Gonzaga University. With over 20 years of experience in the medical field with specialty training in Cardiology and Aesthetics Medicine. Gabrielle found her passion in aesthetic medicine after receiving a “life-changing” treatment for TMJ pain. Gabrielle’s mission is to help clients find happiness, confidence and feel like the best version of themselves by providing aesthetic treatments that are impactful and authentic to who they are.
Gabrielle is the Medical Director & Co-Founder of Onyx Medical Aesthetics. She is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a Doctorate from Gonzaga University. Gabrielle has specialty training in Cardiology and Aesthetics Medicine. She has been in the medical field for over 15 years. She found a passion for aesthetic medicine after receiving her very own “life-changing” treatment for TMJ pain years ago. Gabrielle provides aesthetic treatments with the mission to help clients find happiness, confidence and feeling like a better version of themselves.
KARA BAXTER
Co-Founders
Meet Kara, Co-Founder and Leading Nurse Injector at Onyx Medical Aesthetics.
Kara is a highly skilled nurse injector and a twin mom. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing with experience in family practice, critical care, and aesthetics injections. With years of experience working in a high-stress environment and being the mother of identical twin girls Kara has mastered the art of self-love and self-care. Her mission is to empower her clients with open communication and education, helping them to build self-confidence. Kara finds joy in bringing a fresh perspective on medicine to the community.
Kara is the Co-Founder of Onyx Medical Aesthetics and is their lead nurse injector. She received her bachelor’s in nursing in 2008. Kara specializes in critical care nursing and aesthetics injections. After years of working in a high- stress environment such as critical care, Kara has learned the art of self-love and self-care. She strives to provide open communication and education to her clients that will help them build self-confidence. She enjoys bringing a new side of medicine to the community.
Hillary Vanatta
Licensed Esthetician
Licensed Master Esthetician
Meet Hillary, your licensed esthetician who graduated with honors from the Spectrum Advanced Aesthetics Institute in Oregon in April 2023. After several years working for state associations, Hillary realized she wanted a change and decided to pursue a new career in esthetics.
Hillary is passionate about all things related to skincare and is a firm believer in the importance of SPF. She enjoys implementing healing modalities like LED and collagen induction into her services. Hillary is thrilled to offer medical-grade treatments and skincare with a relaxing atmosphere.
When Hillary isn’t in the treatment room, she enjoys spending time with her loved ones, dancing, and taking trips to the beach.
Hillary loves all things skincare and is a huge advocate for SPF always. She loves to incorporate healing modalities such as LED and collagen induction into her services. She is excited to offer medical grade treatments and skin care, with a relaxing vibe.
When Hillary’s not in the treatment room she loves to spend time with her family, dance, and take trips to the beach.
